The Magnetic Voice

Dear Voice,

As I review 2021 and all the ways my voice has blessed me, I hear the little girl singing next door. Her sweet voice rings through the air with unabashed purity and brings me back...

Dear Voice,

Thank you for being an instrument of joy in my life. When I was a child, your presence in my little body brought smiles and hugs. You were the bridge to the world around me. Your vibrant colors and creativity filled in the lines when I didn’t yet know the words. You were not only my comfort and joy, but through you and your song, I became the comfort and joy of others.

And then, as I grew up, I forgot who you were to me. I found myself in situations where I came to think of you as dangerous. Those times when the critical voices of others filled my head with thoughts of “you're not good enough!” or “don’t shine so bright because you make me feel bad about myself,” I put you on mute. When the outside world compared you to other voices and found you lacking, I put you on mute. When I tolerated violation after violation and chose to protect others rather than myself, I put you on mute. When I was heart broken and disillusioned, I put you on mute so no one could hurt me again. Can you ever forgive me?

You taught me that true forgiveness is letting go in order to trust again. In fact, you reminded me that you will always be there waiting for me no matter how many times I turn away from you and try to silence you. Your resilience and brilliance brought me back to my heart and that little girl full of comfort and joy. Now, each time I consciously connect you with my heart, I am filled with a power I never dreamed possible. You vibrate within and without me in amazing new ways which inspire me to use you for healing and bringing light to the world. These vibrations catapult me into action with a new awareness of myself. I am God’s healing voice on earth created to wake up other voices to their magnificence.

Precious voice, thank you for your clemency and grace. Thank you for your mysterious ability to give me evidence of divinity through humanity. Thank you for reminding me who I am and Whose I am.

Forever Yours,

Monique
