The Flower Moon

We are approaching the full moon in May and I recently discovered that the May full moon is very important to the Buddists around the world.  Evidently, Prince Siddhartha, the “buddha”-to-be, was born on the full moon day in May.  Then, after 6 years of hardship the Prince attained enlightenment under the shade of the bodhi tree on the full moon in May becoming Guatama Buddha. And lastly, after 45 years of teaching the Truth, he passed away on the full moon day in May. So this is the perfect time to celebrate our journeys, metaphysically, through birth, enlightenment, and the “cessation of all desire” (death).  These journeys can happen in a number of years, a month, a day or even--during the breath cycle of inhale and exhale.

Take a moment now and deeply inhale.  Then, pause for a moment, full of life-force, then exhale.  You have just had an experience of this journey.  Imagine the inhale is a “birth”.  The moment of pause, full of the life force and the exhale could be the “enlightenment”.  And perhaps, the end of the exhale when breath stops is like a “death”.  That moment at the end of the exhale is one most of us avoid. If we can allow ourselves to experience ourselves as empty, there is more room for life and gratitude.

The first thing I share with a new client who has joined my “Master Your Magnetic Voice” program, are new ways to breathe.  One of my favorites is to focus on that pause between inhale and exhale.  If we imagine this moment as the place where we access our higher self or the Divine, then everything we say or sing on our exhale journey is then mixed with “enlightenment”.

So, as we celebrate this May Full Moon, referred to as the Flower Moon (which also happens to be the last supermoon of 2020), I invite you to imagine what journey you would like to experience.  What seeds do you want to plant?  What dream do you want to manifest?  What do you want to see more of in your life?  How do you want your voice to be heard?  How do you want to plant your feet in these moments of uncertainty?

And remember...I will be right there with you planting seeds in the fertile soil of the Full Flower May Moon.  Hahaha!  Of course, wearing something diva-like.  Maybe a turban?
